ABSTRACT

Technological advancement has led to the development of computer system with the ability to learn from experience, handle complex situation, solve problems when important information is missing determine what is important, react quickly and correctly to a new situation and exhibits creativity. Subsequently, computer-based system a component of artificial intelligence can be used to solve problems in every field and discipline such as billing and forecasting of sales. Hence, this project work “Computer-Based Billing and Sales Forecasting System” is tailored towards developing a computer-based system that eliminates the problem of Billing, Maintaining a summary of all sales made in Orange Drug Nig. Ltd. Information such as consumer preferences obtained from consumer surveys, results of the market test in selected geographical areas. Post sales data on similar products in the industry are processed by a computer to produce summary statistical measures such as percentage, arithmetic means and product training etc. These summary measures were analyzed by managers and used as input to computerized statistical forecasting procedures that may be used to project sales volume into the future given assumptions about pricing and promotional effort. This enables the manager do a better job of planning marketing strategies. The new system was designed using Microsoft visual basic 6.0 programming langua
