A questionnaire titled “Questionnaire of Secondary School Leadership and Management Challenges (OSSLMC) was designed to obtain relevant information from the respondents, while simple percentages and frequency counts were employed to analyse the data collected in answering the four research questions raised. Finding of the study showed that the leadership and management challenges existed in the Local Government Area. These challenges were to be caused by instability in government and its policy, educational policies frequently changing, lack of inadequate resources, mismanagement of available resources, leadership styles, qualification, experience, sex and age, lack of co-operation among teaching and non-teaching staff, students co-operating in the schools and so on.
It was therefore, recommended that school managers (principals) should continue to acquire relevant training in school management to keep abreast of time. Furthermore, the principals should encourage and practice democratic style of leadership in their administration.
