ABSTRACT

It is a fact that management of educational resources is a crucial aspect of school management that cannot be neglected. In the light of this, this research work investigated the resource management practices between public and private secondary schools in Yola Local Government Area of Adamawa State. Descriptive survey design was adopted in conducting the study. Random sampling technique was used in selecting 23 secondary schools, that is (six public and 17 private secondary schools respectively) out of the total of the 56 secondary schools in the Local Government Area.

An instrument tagged: “Resource Management Practices Questionnaire” (RMPQ) was used to collect relevant data in the study. The instrument was validated by six experts in the area of Educational Management in the Federal University of Technology Yola. Furthermore, test re-test technique was used to ascertain the reliability of the instrument. Its co-efficient of reliability was found to be 0.83. Three research questions were raised.
