ABSTRACT
This research project was aimed at assessing the internet value by media practitioners. Data for this study were collected from 122 respondents who were systematically sampled. The data were analyzed through simple percentages. The study conducted in Uyo reveals that demographic factors influence the audience composition and that most of the audience derived their greatest satisfaction from the combined areas of collecting news from physical event and internet. The study further reveals that, common delivery materials, reduction of production and distribution cost, changes pattern of information/news consumption and direct relationship between advertisers and consumers are the basic benefits of interest to media practitioners. It was recommended, among other, that information should be distributed equitably among the poor and rich in order to bridge the information gap between the people and that there should be mass education and enlightenment campaign on the use of the world wide web to curb internet illiteracy, while at the same time encouraging more research on the world wide web to help students and the general public who might need to carryout a research on internet in future.
