research work examines “A Sociological Analysis of Small Scale Enterprises
involving Ekpoma Community as the selected case study”. The objective of the
study is to examine the sociological analysis of Small Scale enterprises in
Ekpoma community as well as importance of Small Scale industries on the
Nigerian economy. The research also seeks to find out the impact of Small Scale
enterprise in aiding job creation in Ekpoma community. The study sample was 200
respondents from Ekpoma community. The simple percentage (%) method was used to
analyze the questionnaires returned and the research questions constructed in
the work. Based on the findings, the researcher concluded that small-Scale
Enterprises have made impact in improving the socio-economic well being of the
Nigerian people. Also, the
education level of small-scale enterprises operators determine their level of
sources. Lastly, government/Regulation do not hinder the operation/activities
of small-scale business. It is therefore recommended that the Federal
Government should allocate a larger share of national development budgets to
the Local Government Authority, and apportion a team of consultants who will
monitor, evaluate projects, and ensure compliance to Federal government rural
development plan. Also, our youth Corpers should be properly trained during
service year, on how to be self-reliant through establishment of small-scale
industries in our rural areas. Interest free loan should be granted to any of
them who is willing to commence with the end of his/her service.
